As part of the implementation of the ISBU project, two hydroponic systems were created.

In one of them, wastewater from the Ostrava WWTP (OVAK) outflow is used for irrigation. The second garden bed is irrigated with the Ostrava WWTP (OVAK) outflow water after subsequent treatment (treatment with ultrafiltration including carbon sorbents). The aim is to determine the penetration of micropollutants into agricultural crops from both types of water and also the effect of treated water from the outflow on their growth. The plants used for this experiment are: lettuce, celery, cabbage and tomato.
